Why do I need upgraded rear reflectors?

Tesla's OEM rear reflectors are passive. They do reflect light, but they do not provide light output or any dynamic display capability. It's becoming increasingly common for high-end vehicles to offer sequential turn signals that fire a sequence of LEDs from inside to outside, providing a dynamic indication of your intent to turn. With our rear reflector upgrade, you can do exactly that!

Is installation difficult?

Installation does require some automotive DIY (do-it-yourself) skills, but generally, the LED powered rear reflector upgrade can be installed without difficulty. Because they are plug-and-play, these rear reflectors allow you to tap into the OEM connectors for your tail lights, making the electrical hook-up straightforward.  Full video and written installation instructions are provided. However, if you feel uncomfortable with this installation for any reason, we recommend that you engage a professional installer to do the work for you.

That will vary, but in general, installation shouldn't take more than 90 minutes.

No. The LED Powered Rear Reflector Upgrade has been specifically designed for Model 3 and Model Y separately. The installation instructions are the same.
