Fit limitation: not for 2024+ or 2025+ models
Tesla redesigned the visor assembly for the 2024 Highland Model 3 and 2025 Juniper Model Y. The EVANNEX holder's clip won't attach securely to those revised visors. If you drive an earlier Model 3 (2017–2023) or a pre-2025 Model Y, you're good.
Installation steps
- Check your visor compatibility: Confirm your Model 3 is a 2017–2023 model (not Highland). The holder will not clip onto the thicker 2024+ visor. A quick way to tell: if your visor has a rigid plastic edge all around, it's the older style that works. Measure the visor thickness – if it's over 8 mm, the clip won't grip.
- Slide the holder onto the driver-side visor: Hold the EVANNEX holder with the opening facing the visor edge. Slide it on from the inner (center) side, pushing until the clip sits flush against the visor surface. It should feel snug but not forced. Don't push from the outer edge – you might bend the clip. Always slide from the center toward the outer edge.
- Test the lid and adjust position: Press the lid closed, then press it lightly to pop open. If the lid sticks or the holder shifts, reposition it – it should sit flat and not interfere with the visor's normal flip motion. The holder stays put once seated correctly. If the holder wobbles, remove it and re-slide from the center. A slight adjustment in angle often fixes the fit.
